i heart faces {slice of life}

This weeks challenge at i heart faces is "Slice of Life"

In order to narrow down the picture to use , I decided to do one with Will.  Since he is usually at school while I work on the picture for the challenge he is rarely in one. This was taken last week at the Brookings Children Museum. We had a lot of fun in the water room!

Sunday randoms {A broken plate, skateboard and Norton}

Yep, I know it is Monday, but I wanted to get this posted yesterday, but it didn't happen.

Oh the memories... this plate is from my childhood.  It was at my grandparents house and I remember eating off it every time I visited.  I'm pretty sure my brothers didn't get a chance to use it and if they did, it was against my will.  It was sent home with me during a visit after I had Will.  It lived a very useful life in this house until Wyatt threw it off his highchair.

Jason got Will and Wes a skateboard this weekend. I am relieved that the boys are still in one piece.

We had to say good bye to our big yellow dog. Norton was 11. He was our fist baby. Jason got him the year he graduated collage. He was a little ball of yellow fluff with huge feet.  We loved him.  The boys loved him.  I'm not sure how much Norton loved the boys, but he tolerated them well!
This is an old picture. That is Will.

Ellen makes me smile { sioux falls child photographer }

"Ellen makes me smile and just about anything makes Ellen smile! Ellen is my everything, the love of my life, extremely intelligent, happy... I can't say enough! I'm discovering she really like horses and unicorns... and her favorite color is purple which she will point out anywhere she sees it. We like to read books and sing and tickle in our free time... My favorite holiday is Valentine's Day - it just makes me feel good to see all the hearts and flowers and signs of love everywhere! "

I absolutely love this.  It is what Ellen's mom wrote in her client questionnaire.

Now Elizabeth told me she wanted a picture of her with Ellen, but warned me she would need some coxing to get in front of the camera.  I'm happy we got her there, this is one of my favorite of them.

Sunday randoms - Purple cauliflower, museum, church and a song.

 Just for fun, we are having purple cauliflower with dinner. Isn't it pretty?  The boys think it is pretty cool.

We went to the Children's Museum in Brookings this afternoon. Wonderful place... pictures to come!

And, this morning, Jason and I were confirmed as Charter Members at the church we attend. This kids sang a silly, fun song to us at the end of kids church. Posting it below since I had to Google the lyrics for the boys this evening.

Hip Hip Hooray (Hippopotamus)

by: Mary Rice Hopkins

In the beginning, God made the sea
And the forest filled with trees
He made the mountains up so high
And on the top he placed the sky

God's fingerprints are everywhere
Just to show how much He cares
But in between He had loads of fun
He made a hippo who weighs a ton.

Hip-hip-hip-hippopotamus
Hip-hip-hooray God made us
Hip-hip-hip-hippopotamus
Hip-hip-hooray God made us

Saint Patrick's Day

We were visited by a leprechaun yesterday.  I was told his name was Lucky.  He visited Will's class in school and I  guess he followed us home from Wednesday.  He made a mess.  Dumped the markers, but left us a nice note.  Made a parade of hot-wheels across the hall and down the stairs.  Drew on the walls and left foot prints everywhere.  He even turned our milk green. Which, in case you were wondering, still tastes the same as white milk.  But even thought he was quite mischievous, he left a few cookies behind for the boys.

Hope you all had a fun Saint Patrick's Day! Did you get visited by a leprechaun or have any fun stories/pictures to share? Leave me a comment!

i heart faces {sun flare}

This week's theme at i heart faces is sun flare and I was worried that I wasn't going to able to participate in this challenge.  I like to use a picture taken just for the theme (not one out of my archives) and  the sun hasn't been out and it has been to cold in the evenings when (for me) it is easier to get sun flare in my photography.  However, spring made its grand entrance today.

He wasn't happy about being put in a non-moving wagon, but it was the only way to get him to stay in one place long enough, and his brothers were to busy riding bikes to give me even a second.

Longing for spring

I had a session at the butterfly house this morning.  I couldn't resist this flower.

I am ready for spring. Really, really ready for spring.  My garden is calling.....

Octopus {a fun share}

Did you know that an octopus has 3 hearts, sticky arms, blue blood and no bones?

Wes does, and he would be more then happy to tell you all about them!

Other ocean creatures that have come home with us.... a sea urchin and a rainbow fish.  You do NOT want to eat a sea urchin because they are very poky.  They also have small mouths and live in rocks.

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE his preschool!

where's da ball.....

...is one of Wyatt's most used words, right along  with "mine" and "no".  At just 22 months he has a pretty good arm, and if your in his sight when he has "da ball" watch out as he has a fairly good aim as well. Is there a toddler baseball league?

Jacob is one {sioux falls baby and family photographer}

I has a super fun time at this in  home session.  It was Jacob's first birthday! I loved how when asked how old he was he held up one finger.

What little boy doesn't love John Deer tractors?

We finished off the session with a cake smash.  I think it is such a fun way to document a first birthday.

Thank you, Jacob, for sharing your birthday with me!
